Coordinate Labels and Packaging from the Briefing Stage
Coordinate Labels and Packaging from the Briefing Stage: details to clarify
Labels and packaging are sometimes designed at different times. Bringing them together from the briefing stage helps the team identify what needs to stay consistent: product name, visual identity, information, colours and hierarchy.
Start by gathering container dimensions, product variants and existing files. Specify which elements are fixed and which may still change. If product dimensions are not final, flag that before approving files or formats.
Also consider the product journey: how will it be presented, packaged, shipped or placed on a shelf? The answers can guide questions about the materials and their uses. They don’t, on their own, determine technical feasibility.
Choose one person to consolidate comments and approvals. Multiple versions or conflicting feedback can lead to rework. A written summary of decisions helps everyone work from the same information.
Materials, processes, safety requirements and claims must be checked with the responsible parties before production begins.
