Preparing a File Before Printing: details to clarify
Before sending a file, first make sure it’s the right version. Names such as “final,” “final2” and “final-really” don’t always make it clear which document should be used. Choose a master version and clearly indicate that it’s approved for review.
Confirm the expected format and dimensions with the person preparing production. Requirements vary by material and process; don’t infer them from an old project without checking that they still apply.
Proofread text, contact details, prices and references. A visual proof is not necessarily an editorial or regulatory approval. Identify who is responsible for approval and keep a record of the approved version.
Images should be appropriate for their intended size. If the document includes specific fonts, external links or graphic elements, flag them and ask what transfer method is preferred.
Accepted file formats and the transfer channel must be confirmed with TETRA CHROME. Don’t send confidential files to an address or through a service not approved by your organization.
